FIDAE officially took off at Farnborough

An official delegation travelled to England to make the commercial launching of the event and to increase its level of diffusion.
Santiago de Chile, August, 5, 2008-FIDAE, the (International Air and Space Fair) keeps developing a promotional campaign to enhance its international presence. Some representatives from the show and the Commander-in-Chief of the Chilean air force (FACh), Gen. Ricardo Ortega Perrier visited Farnborough, one of the main aeronautical fairs in Europe. The presence of FIDAE in England showed the strong commitment of the Chilean institution to opens FIDAE towards new markets.
FIDAE’s commercial delegation was headed by its President Gen. Julio Escobar and Colonel Roberto Avendano, chief executive of the fair. Both authorities travelled to England to broadcast the major features of the next edition of FIDAE, (23rd to March, 28th, 2010). The event will be taking place at the same time Chile is celebrating its bicentennial anniversary. Moreover, on March 2010, the Chilean Air Force (FACH) will be celebrating its eighty years of existence.
“Farnborough represented an excellent opportunity to make the commercial launching of FIDAE 2010 and also was a great tool to contact a great deal of European enterprises, which have already confirmed its attendance to FIDAE 2010. Farnborough really helped us to attract new investors”, noted Avendano.
The delegation of the Chilean fair was proud to visit Farnborough after the great success of FIDAE 2008. Many businesses deals were closed in that aerospace show, especially those related to the selling of helicopters for military and civil use, the acquisition of safety elements, and the commercialization of spare parts and elements regarding the aeronautical industry.
Avendano’s team has also worked on attendance. “We are inviting all the ministers and chiefs of staff from the region and the world,” while a strategic IATA conference on the future of air transport will bring CEOs and top executives of airlines throughout South and Central America” said the authority.
