50-seat aircraft to join the first jet delivered in 2006
São José dos Campos, February 5, 2009 – ECC Leasing Company Limited, a wholly owned
subsidiary of Embraer, has sold a second ERJ 145 used jet to Brazil’s Federal Police Department
(Departamento de Polícia Federal – DPF). The aircraft, whose delivery is scheduled for the first
half of 2009, will join the other ERJ 145 delivered in July 2006 and successfully operated by DPF.
“It is gratifying to us at Embraer to see another of
our aircraft being deployed to meet the Brazilian
government’s transportation needs throughout its
vast territory,” said Paulo Estevão de Carvalho
Tullio, Embraer Asset Management Director. “The
Company aims to provide the best products and
services, worldwide, and has endeavored to
increase its global presence, with a specific
emphasis on Brazil.”
The DPF will use the airplane for new missions
arising from the expansion of its operational scope.
This agreement includes a service package that will
benefit both this and the first aircraft, improving
their dispatch reliability.
“The Federal Police Department has nationwide responsibilities, which require flexible, fast,
and safe air transportation, with the highest possible dispatch reliability rates and facilitated
maintenance services,” said Rubens José Maleiner, DPF Operational Aviation Coordinator.
“We are certain that the ERJ 145 meets these needs, and are especially proud that this
quality high-technology product is produced in our own country.”
About the Brazilian Federal Police Department (DPF)
The Federal Police Department (Departamento de Polícia Federal – DPF) is Brazil’s national
police force, whose main responsibility is to investigate crimes against the Federal Government,
that is, its administration, its agencies and public companies, as well as combat international
drug trafficking and terrorism, and handle border control, including airports, waterways and
checkpoints, and issue passports.
Since it is involved throughout all of Brazil’s territory, the DPF has a modern and functional
structure that supports the centralized planning, coordination, and control of its actions with important performance and ensures the presence of its representatives at several points of the
country, as they carry out their police responsibilities in joint operations with other federal agencies
and entities, thus promoting national integration. More information is available at www.dpf.gov.br.
